As Mario Cristobal continues to retool his staff this off season, he will reportedly be on the hunt for a new linebackers coach.
Multiple reports share this morning that Hurricanes co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Derek Nicholson is heading to the SEC to join Eli Drinkwitz's staff at Missouri.
Reports add that he will coach the linebackers for the Tigers.
Nicholson spent the past two seasons with the co-defensive coordinator title to go along with his duties coaching the linebackers at The U
He previously held the same roles at Louisville and has previous stops at Southern Miss, Akron and Alcorn State (FCS).
The move opens up an addition spot on the defensive side of the ball in Miami where new defensive coordinator Corey Hetherman was recently nabbed from Minnesota. With the Golden Gophers, Hetherman coached the linebackers in addition to his play calling duties.
