Illinois dropped some major coin on their search for a new AD, where they eventually hired Josh Whitman, an alum who was serving as the AD at Washington University, a Division III institution in St. Louis, MO. During the search the Illini spent $5,365.89 on a two-night stay in a luxury hotel in Indianapolis for two school officials, $11k for a limo service, over $1k on breakfast and lunch buffets, another $1k for dinner for 12 at a steak house and another $11k on flights, hotel rooms and other travel expenses for the candidates.
