NCAA delivers Michigan Notice of Allegations (Michigan Notice Of Allegations)

Another week closer to the full-scale start of the 2024 college football season, another chapter in the University of Michigan's NCAA cheating scandal.

On Sunday, both Michigan officials and the NCAA confirmed that Wolverines officials had received the NCAA's formal Notice of Allegations. Yahoo! first reported the news before officials confirmed the arrival of the long-anticipated document.

Myriad current and former members of the Michigan Wolverines staff are at the center of the probe, which launched after it was discovered that former full-time Michigan football staffer Connor Stalions had orchestrated an elaborate, multi-state sign-stealing scheme that violated both formal rules and the spirt of sportsmanship.

Of note, Stalions is to be featured a new documentary this week on the Netflix streaming service.

In addition to Stalions being at the center of the probe, the NOA also outlines alleged misdeeds of former Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh, who fled the college game in January after leading the Wolverines to the College Football Playoff and returned to the NFL, as well as current Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore.

β€œThe NCAA can confirm that a Notice of Allegations has been distributed to the school," collegiate athletics' governing body said in a statement, "and involved parties in the Michigan investigation. To protect the integrity of the infractions process as the case progresses forward, the NCAA will not provide any further comment on the specifics included.”

Michigan, which has been at the center of the scandal for some 10 months and already saw Harbaugh suspended numerous games during the 2023 season, has 90 days to respond to the NCAA's NOA.

With Michigan receiving the notice, the 90-day window puts the school in need of an answer to the NCAA no later than Nov. 23, 2024.

The Wolverines host Big Ten foe Northwestern that day in Ann Arbor.
