Netflix set to release "Sign Stealer" documentary on Connor Stalions and Michigan scandal (Untold)

As part of their "Untold" series, Netflix has covered some of the top stories in sports and football including:

  • The Girlfriend Who Didn't Exist - the Manti Teo story on being Catfished
  • Johnny Football - Chronicling Johnny Manziel's rise and fall
  • Swamp Kings - The Story of Urban Meyer and the Florida Gators

The series has drawn a lot of both attention, and criticism, perhaps most notably for some of the storylines that weren't covered in the Swamp Kings doc.

Now the streaming giant is set to take on the biggest storyline in college football from last season in Michigan's scouting scandal.

Set to release on August 27, Sign Stealer will feature a sit down with Connor Stalions for his side of the sign-stealing scheme that turned him into the biggest villain in college football and led to the multi-game suspension of Jim Harbaugh during their run to the National Championship.

What will make this a bit different than their previous focuses is that an NCAA investigation is (still) currently underway, so don't be surprised if there isn't a lot of free information being shared by Stalions.

Nonetheless, his perspective on the story is one that has gone untold until the show gets released, so it's going to have a massive audience, and it will be really interesting to hear how much Netflix shelled out for it when it's all said and done.

The scouting scandal won't be the only football story that Netflix covers in August

Another segment of the series will air August 27th covering the murder of former Titans great Steve McNair, covering the franchise's epic Super Bowl run as well as the questions that still surround his 2009 murder.
