New book detailing Jim Harbaugh's final days at Michigan set to release

The book was written by a nationally renowned college football reporter and a six-time NY Times best selling author.

Jim Harbaugh did exactly what he set out to do when he took the Michigan job.

He rebuilt the proud program to national prominence with an image of toughness and the ability to overcome adversity time and time again and built a staff that helped the Wolverines to the national title despite being embroiled in controversy and multiple NCAA investigations.

The last part certainly wasn't part of the initial vision, but the fact that it played out that way makes the Wolverines run to the national title even more impressive.

As the NFL hiring cycle started, it was became more and more clear that Harbaugh's mission in Ann Arbor was complete and  that there were going to be opportunities for him to return to the NFL.

Now a new book is set to come out detailing Harbaugh's final days at Michigan from two authors well known authors.

Amen Keteyian and John Talty wrote The Price: What It Takes to Win in College Football's Era of Chaos and it is set to be released in late August.

Keteyian has put six books on the New York Times best-seller list and Talty is a nationally renowned college football reporter.

According to an excerpt shared by CBS, the book details some of the advice Harbaugh was getting from his inner circle almost immediately after hoisting the national title trophy, with many sharing that if he were to stay at Michigan, the Committee on Infractions was likely going to hammer him with further suspensions that could span 4-6 games.

The book also details the strained relationship between Harbaugh and Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel, who Harbaugh believed was no longer the advocate he needed in his corner.

Talty previously authored The Leadership Secrets of Nick Saban that was a huge hit among coaches, and I'd expect this book to have the same type of success.

Look for the book's release on August 27th.
