New event coming aiming to advance minority coaches' careers (Featured)

FootballScoop is working with Sports Consulting Northwest to launch the SCNW Consortium, a new event aimed at advancing the careers of minority football coaches in college football.

Sports Consulting Northwest is a sports agency based out of Spokane, Wash., led by Bryan Blair.

The goal of the event will be to highlight up-and-coming minority coaches and hear from industry gatekeepers to address the structural issues within college football that keep minorities from getting head coaching and coordinator jobs at the same level as their peers.

This will be an invitation-only networking event looking to create lasting change both for the careers of the coaches involved and for the industry as a whole.

While specifics are still forthcoming, the SCNW Consortium will take place in concert with the 2020 AFCA Convention. The event will be held Sunday, Jan. 12 in Nashville.

Those looking to get involved in the event as a speaker, a sponsor or to nominate a coach are encouraged to fill out this form.

As always, stay tuned to FootballScoop as further details are unveiled throughout the fall.
