It looks like, on top of everything else we're dealing with these days, we won't have an NFL labor dispute on our hands.
With training camps set to be fully in swing a week from tomorrow, some of the top players in pro football spent their Sunday sounding the alarm about the testing protocols ownership had put in place.
"We need Football! We need sports! We need hope! The NFL’s unwillingness to follow the recommendations of their own medical experts will prevent that," Drew Brees tweeted. "If the NFL doesn’t do their part to keep players healthy there is no football in 2020. It’s that simple. Get it done NFL."
On Monday, the league struck an agreement with union leadership to provide daily testing for all players for the first two weeks of camp.
The NFL's testing battle are similar to those endured by MLB and the NBA in their returns, which, after some early hiccups, are well on their way to successful launches later this month.
Here's hoping the NFL is on track to do the same. The country is watching.
