Alabama has announced that Nick Saban has been cleared to coach against Georgia tonight.
The news comes after Saban's third negative COVID test this morning. Each of those tests came 24 hours apart from each other, as per SEC COVID testing protocols.
The results of those three negative tests confirm that Saban's initial COVID test was a false positive, and he is clear to return to the team today.
Just yesterday morning, we shared that Desmond Howard tweeted: "I believe Nick Saban will be on the field coaching tomorrow. Enjoy your Friday," which started an interesting flurry of events and updates. We compiled all those updates up to this point via this article.
Saban's situation is a bit different than that of Florida State head coach Mike Norvell a few weeks ago, who had to quarantine. Norvell, who was also asymptomatic, had subsequent tests come back positive.
