If it took until 2020 for Nick Saban to get an email account, you can imagine how distrustful of technology the 2001 version of Saban was.

Actually, we don’t have to imagine. Will Muschamp and Kirby Smart are happy to tell us.

Before they were the head coaches of South Carolina and Georgia, respectively, they got their big breaks as position coaches for Saban. Muschamp’s first FBS full-time job came as LSU’s linebackers coach in 2001, Smart’s as LSU’s defensive backs coach in 2004.

And both shared stories of Saban being comically behind the times, at the expense of his rising star assistants.
