Notre Dame is promoting graduate assistant Max Bullough to linebackers coach, the program announced Tuesday.
Bullough joined the staff ahead of the 2023 season following three years as a GA at Alabama. He was also a GA at Cincinnati in 2019, where he worked with Irish head coach Marcus Freeman, then the Bearcats' defensive coordinator, along with a number of other current Notre Dame assistants.
Bullough replaces Chris O'Leary, who took a job on Jim Harbaugh's LA Chargers staff.
An All-Big Ten linebacker at Michigan State, Bullough was an undrafted free agent who played three seasons for the Houston Texans from 2014-16. He finished playing in 2018 and embarked on his coaching career the following year.
Bullough's grandfather, Jim Morse, Sr., played for Notre Dame from 1954-56 and his uncle, Jim Morse, Jr., played corner for the Fighting Irish from 1976-77.
Bullough's promotion completes Notre Dame's defensive staff for the 2024 season.
