Ohio State is adding a former ACC coordinator to staff (Ohio State)

Ryan Day is adding a member to his support staff that has some quality experience.

Ricky Brown is joining the Buckeyes staff, and sources share that he will work for the program in a special teams quality control role.

Last season, Brown worked as the linebackers coach at Lafayette (FCS - PA).

Brown is the former special teams coordinator and outside linebackers coach at Boston College under Steve Addazio from 2017-19.

He shared the news of his move to Columbus via social media yesterday.

Before joining the on-field staff at BC, Brown served as the director of football initiatives as well as in quality control roles on defense and special teams.

He spent six seasons (2006-12) in the NFL with the Raiders after entering the league as an undrafted free agent after playing at Boston College from 2002-05. Day and Brown's relationship stretches back to when Brown was still playing in the early 2000's, as Ryan Day was beginning his career as a graduate assistant on the BC staff.

After his playing career was over, Brown worked as a wealth advisor for Morgan Stanley for a brief time before getting back into football as a quality control coach at USC.
