Ohio State reportedly adding former MAC coordinator and UCLA assistant to staff (Ohio State)

Billy Fessler spent the past two seasons as the quarterbacks coach on Joe Moorhead's staff at Akron, earning the nod to offensive coordinator with the Zips prior to last fall.

Back in January, Fessler took an opportunity to join Chip Kelly's staff at UCLA as their quarterbacks coach, but his role was changed when Kelly decided to leave Westwood for the offensive coordinator job on Ryan Day's staff in Columbus.

Now Fessler is reportedly set to join the Buckeyes staff, reuniting with Kelly and also rejoining the Buckeye program he once served as a graduate assistant for.

Pete Thamel shares today that Fessler, a former Penn State quarterback from 2014-17, is joining the Ohio State staff as an analyst, where he will work with the quarterbacks.

Just 28 years old, Fessler has served as a graduate assistant on staffs at Slippery Rock (D-II - PA), Mississippi State, and Ohio State before landing his first on-field job at Akron.

While at Ohio State, Fessler assisted with two quarterbacks who were Heisman Trophy finalists and future NFL starters in Justin Fields and CJ Stroud.
