We already track the hires of the new coaches around college football via our Staff Tracker, but with all the coordinator and position coaching changes in the coaching profession every off season, we wanted to provide a place to go to track those as well.
Here, we will share the openings and hirings at the offensive line coaching position, covering both the hires for new head coaches, and established ones replacing guys.
Some of the top tier offensive line jobs open right now include Arizona State (who very well may promote from within), Auburn, and Tennessee.
We signified one offensive line coach leaving for another offensive line job in parenthesis.
Reason for change: Head coaching change. Carroll spent the past six seasons as run game coordinator / offensive line coach with the Seahawks and has prior experience at USC and Miami.
Reason for change: Christensen retired, announcing it with a great video. Colts assistant offensive line coach Klayton Adams was initially brought in as the new offensive line coach, but ultimately opted to return to the Colts and Syracuse offensive line coach Mike Cavanaugh was brought in.
Reason for change: Head coaching change. Former Penn State and Minnesota offensive line coach Limegrover was hired by Butch Jones. He will also hold the title of run game coordinator.
Reason for change: Head coaching change. Friend originally joined the South Carolina staff, but later followed Bobo out of Columbia for Auburn.
Reason for change: Head coaching change. Baylor parted ways with Joe Wickline, and had brought in Troy offensive coordinator Ryan Pugh as their new offensive line coach, but that fell apart and they turned to Eric Mateos, who spent the past two years in the same role at BYU.
Reason for change: Head coaching change. Keane previously served as the offensive line coach at UC-Davis, where new Boise State OC Tim Plough also came from.
Reason for change: Lee Grimes left to take the offensive line job at Kansas under Les Miles. Former Texas co-OC / OL coach Herb Hand was hired to replace Grimes, but he ultimately decided to leave to join Gus Malzahn at UCF. FootballScoop learned that Pete Rossomando, the former offensive line coach at Vanderbilt and Rutgers, was on the verge of joining the staff in early March.
Reason for change: Austin left for a position on the Clemson staff, and Naghavi accepted the job after serving as the offensive coordinator at ULM in the off season.
Reason for change: Word broke January 1st of some changes to the offensive staff, including Hudson's dismissal. Geep Wade, who coached the offensive line at UT-Martin (FCS) in 2018, was announced as Hudson's replacement
Reason for change: Head coaching change. Bart Miller was hired by Bret Bielema after two seasons coaching the offensive line at Wyoming.
Reason for change: Polasek left to become the offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach at Wyoming. George Barnett, who spent last season at Miami (OH) and had left for the Tulane offensive line job, will be the new offensive line coach for the Hawkeyes.
Reason for change: Luke Meadows was let go during the season. Lee Grimes was hired away from Charlotte.
Reason for change: Schlarman passed away during the season after battling cancer.
Reason for change: Ledford left for the Falcons offensive line job, and former Auburn offensive line coach and coaching veteran Jack Bicknell Jr. is the new offensive line coach for Scott Satterfield's staff.
Reason for change: Head coaching change. Clemson offensive graduate assistant Maverick Morris followed Bowden's to coach his offensive line.
Reason for change: Barnett left to replace Cody Kennedy at Tulane as offensive line coach. Patton spent the last two seasons at Eastern Michigan.
Reason for change: Head coaching change. Steele joins the staff after serving as a football analyst on the Alabama staff.
Reason for change: Head coaching change. After originally having Will Friend on board, Friend left with Bobo for Auburn. Greg Adkins, who spent the last few seasons at Marshall, was brought in.
Reason for change: Head coaching change. Cody Kennedy had initially followed Will Hall, who he worked with at Tulane as offensive line coach, but ultimately opted to leave for Arkansas where he will coach the tight ends. Darveau joins the staff as run game coordinator / offensive line coach after working for Bobby Petrino at Missouri State in 2020 and with Charlie Strong at South Florida in 2019.
Reason for change: Carberry left to join the Rams staff.
Context: Head coaching change. Alabama offensive line coach Kyle Flood followed Sark as offensive coordinator / offensive line coach.
Reason for change: Cody Kennedy left to become the offensive line coach for Will Hall at Southern Miss. Miami (OH) George Barnett was hired as his replacement, but left to take the offensive line job at Iowa.
Reason for change: Friend left to join the South Carolina staff, reuniting him with Mike Bobo. Elarbee followed Josh Heupel from UCF.
Reason for change: Micah Woods left for the offensive line job at Utah State under Blake Anderson. New Hampshire (FCS) co-offensive coordinator / offensive line coach Alex Miller has joined the staff as James' replacement.
Reason for change: January 1st reports shared that Tim Drevno would not return. Texas State offensive line coach Clay McGuire was hired to take Drevno's spot.
Reason for change: Head coaching change. Micah James left UMass for the offensive line job on Blake Anderson's staff.
Reason for change: Head coaching change. AJ Blazek was hired away from Wyoming to be the new offensive line coach.
Reason for change: Stepeh Hamby was announced as the team's new offensive line coach on January 12th. He previously served in a quality control role on the staff and has prior OL coaching experience at Bowling Green, and as the assistant OL coach at Texas Tech.
Reason for change: Bart Miller left after two seasons to join Bret Bielema's staff at Illinois. Craig Bohl first hired NDSU (FCS) offensive line coach AJ Blazek as his new offensive line coach, but Blazek ultimately left for Vanderbilt. Bohl then turned to Derek Frazier, who is the former Central Michigan offensive line coach and spent the last few seasons with the Jets as assistant offensive line coach.
