There aren't a lot of warm, fuzzy feelings shared between Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Southern Miss and LSU on the football field, but those four programs combined to create some happiness for others on Thursday night.
Bulldogs head coach Dan Mullen, Golden Eagles head coach Todd Monken, Rebels co-offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Matt Luke and Tigers assistant director of player personnel Justin Vincent gathered at the Hard Rock Casino in Biloxi, Miss., for Tailgatepalooza - an annual event that raises money for Special Olympics in the state of Mississippi.
"(Special Olympians) get to experience the thrill of competition, the thrill of winning," Mullen said, who attended his third Tailgatepalooza. "It is something they will get to take with them for a lifetime and that can never be taken away from them."
The event has raised $80,000 for Special Olympics over the past four years.
"It's a very good cause," Luke said. "It's an opportunity to talk football and raise money for Special Olympics. What could be better?"
Well done by all involved.
