Ohio Northern head coach Dean Paul stepped down on Monday to focus on a family health matter.
Paul steps away with a 161-89 career record, making him one of the 10 winningest active coaches in Division III up until his resignation, and a 121-77 record at Ohio Northern.
Paul led the Polar Bears to Division III playoff victories in 2010 and 2015, and to appearances in the D3 national rankings in 11 of his 20 seasons.
Prior to ONU, Paul compiled a 40-12 record at Thomas More University (D-III - KY) with one playoff appearance.
"Dean has had a positive impact on the lives of hundreds of student athletes and so many others in the ONU community," Simmons said. "We are grateful for his two decades of service to the University, and we wish nothing but the best for him and his family."
Prior to his 24-year head coaching career, Paul was an assistant at Tulane, Wooster, Fordham, and Alleghany (Pa.).
