Haskell Indian Nations University (NAIA) has suspended its football program for the 2015-2016 season citing lack of funding.

Haskell, which has fielded a football team since 1896, was the only all Native American team playing college football.

The Fighting Indians competed in the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Haskell Stadium is nearly 100 years old and was in drastic need of upgrades.
