Oregon has been at the forefront of creativity, pushing the envelope with uniform combinations, helmet designs, and everything in between for a while now.
Their latest viral trend will hit the field this fall, and was inspired by the relentless persistence of Ducks football equipment administrator Kenny Farr, who simply wouldn't let an idea he had die.
"So, the inspiration actually came from Kenny. He was like, 'It would be really sick if we could do a Dunk that changes colors,'" Nike product line manager Mattrell McGraw shared.
"We never really had a shoe before that changes colors, where it starts off black, and then it's heat reactive where the heat changes the color of the shoe to a second color."
McGraw told Farr they'd look into it, and every time they'd talk after that point, Farr would ask if any progress had been made.
The back of the shoe features "BUCK" which is the nickname of Nike icon and Oregon super-booster Phil Knight.
Unlike the NFL (No Fun League), college football doesn't have rules about what colors can be worn on cleats, so they mixed in some pinks and greens into the color scheme as well.
"You won't see these on the field anywhere but the University of Oregon," the clip ends by sharing.

Always pushing it.
