Oregon has released renderings of a new video board and sound system at Autzen that will be the crown jewel of college football, according to Oregon Live.
Currently, the honor for the largest video board in college football belongs to Auburn, who put up their 10,830 square foot board (190 feet x 57 feet) up in 2015.
The one Oregon has planned eclipses Auburn's by a total of nearly 1,500 square feet - measuring 12,276 square feet total (118 feet x 66 feet), and will also feature an outward facing 47 foot x 26 foot video board facing outward to communicate and entertain fans.
All told, the estimated cost to be the king of college football video boards? $12 million dollars. The new setup is desperately needed to upgrade the fan experience at Autzen, where fans have craved changes to their dated sound system and video boards which are among the oldest in the league.
Scheduled completion of the project is set for August.
The Ducks will open their season and show off that new video board when they welcome the Ohio State Buckeyes to Autzen to kick off the 2020 season on September 20th.
