A peaceful student protest broke out during the Wyoming-Eastern Michigan game last night

The sports and politics pages continue to collide.

On Tuesday, a knot head at Eastern Michigan spray painted "KKK" in red, white and blue on a wall at the school's Ypsilanti campus. Another message in a campus courtyard read "Leave N------."

EMU students responded Friday but using the Eagles' game against Wyoming as a platform.

CBS Sports Network covered the protests over the course of the game broadcast, which spread from the stands to the area beyond the end zones, with some players reportedly joining in.

After the game, the protest moved to the field.

Eastern Michigan won the game, 27-24.
