Photo: Washington State may have a cool new field design

As the self-proclaimed world's experts on college football field designs, we have to say the two-toned end zone designs is a highly underused element of field design. It's what helped push LSU to the No. 1 spot on the rankings from last fall and, as far as we know, it's the only one of its kind in college football.

In the realm of field designs, it's all about the simple tweaks that make you stand out from the fray. Enter Washington State.

As one of the first programs to use multiple helmet colors on a consistent basis, the Cougars successfully alternate between crimson and gray, so it makes sense that leaked photos hopping around the Internet show Wazzu using both crimson and gray end zones. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but going to a two-toned design would be a massive upgrade over the design currently employed at Martin Stadium.
