While in Ann Arbor back in the fall, campus was buzzing with chatter about Michigan turning Bennie Oosterbaan Field House into their new weight room, and construction was well underway. Regents approved a $21 million plan back in February to revamp the space that used to be their second (and older) indoor facility.
The new space, which is a sprawling 32,000 square feet, is a major upgrade from the 12,000 square feet the team had in the Al Glick Field House.
Overall, the new weight room is really impressive, and it certainly has a newly added "wow" factor. Along with the new space and great branding, the weight room also includes a caged basketball court.
