Photos: Oklahoma unveils new alternate uniforms

If you are wondering where the middle ground rests in the never-ending uniform debate between traditionalists and non-conformists, apparently it's a helmet stripe.

A year ago, Kliff Kingsbury updated Texas Tech's look by adding a stripe (as well as some new colors), and now Oklahoma has done the same with a new set of alternate uniforms.

Oklahoma was one of the last holdouts among college football's traditional powers to not add an alternate. In the Bob Stoops era, the Sooners have only broken tradition by wearing throwbacks at home versus North Texas in 2003, at Texas Tech in 2009, and then with last year's gold-tinged uniforms against Texas.

The response is no doubt split down the middle among the Sooner faithful, but the players love them.
