You know how Snoop Dogg recently changed his name to Snoop Lion? No? Well, Snoop has had a shoe deal with Adidas since 2011 and, on Friday, the company dropped his first pair of football cleats known as the adizero 5-Star Snoop Lion edition cleat.
Snoop provided a quote: "As an avid football fan, I'm excited about my cleat collab with adidas. The cleats are not only made for top performance, but specially designed by me - so get ready to be suited and booted, dipped and whipped like me."
The shoes can be purchased for $120 in Los Angeles on Friday only, but Adidas shipped a pair to Texas A&M ahead of time. At only 6.7 ounces, this shoe is more than just a souvenir. Snoop may have designed the exterior as a piece of his brand empire, but Adidas has built this cleat with on-the-field performance in mind.
I don't know about you, but I believe these cleats do indeed qualify as suited and booted, as well as dipped and whipped.
To be clear, this is an Adidas-wide shoe not exclusive to Texas A&M. But, still, with Drake and now Snoop Dogg in some sort of association with the program, Texas A&M's image has come a very long way in a very short amount of time.
