South Dakota St's renovated stadium will have one more seat than the Fargodome

South Dakota governor Dennis Daugaard signed SB 15 on Thursday, which formally approves $65 million in upgrades and improvements to South Dakota State's Coughlin-Alumni Stadium.

The facility will be 52 this fall and is in great need of an update. The new design, released in November, approved by regents last week and pushed into reality by the governor on Thursday, will be one of the best in FCS. And don't think the Jackrabbits' rivals up north won't know it. Capacity is moving from 15,000 to "whatever the Fargodome has plus one."

“Before this stadium is done I guarantee it will have one more seat than the Fargodome,” said former Jackrabbit and current donor Dana Dykhouse.

The Fargdome lists a capacity of 19,000 for football, so go ahead and mark the new and improved Coughlin-Alumni Stadium down for 19,001.
