Iowa State is close to locking up Matt Campbell as its next head coach, with a deal expected in the next 48 hours according to Sports Illustrated.
If complete, Jamie Pollard grabbing the young and highly-respected Campbell would be the first major coup of the 2015-16 cycle. Missouri had expressed interest in interviewing the 35-year-old Campbell.
Campbell is 35-15 in four seasons with the Rockets. He would inherit an Iowa State program without a winning season since 2009 and with just eight wins total in its last three seasons.
