Report: The top targets for one potential NFL head coach would poach some top college coordinators

With the NFL head coaching cycle about to hit full swing, names of candidates for current (and potential) head coaching openings are floating around aplenty.

One of those names being shared this morning is Ravens defensive coordinator Wink Martindale.

Ian Rapoport tweets this morning that Wink is considered a top candidate for an NFL opening, and his work with the Ravens defense this season has certainly helped his case.

But that's not the most interesting part. What caught our eye is the staff that Wink will target, should he land that NFL head coaching opportunity.

Among the targets for his staff, according to Rapoport, are Clemson offensive coordinator Tony Elliott, Arizona State co-defensive coordinator (and former Bengals head coach) Marvin Lewis, and former Illinois head coach Lovie Smith.

While Lewis has also been mentioned as a candidate to return to the NFL as a head coach, landing that staff would certainly create some waves and some major openings in college football.
