UCLA will hire Boston College AD Martin Jarmond to the same position, according to multiple reports on Saturday. Yahoo's Pete Thamel first reported the news.
The writing was on the wall Friday, when reports out of Vegas emerged saying UNLV AD Desiree Reed-Francois, the only other finalist for the position and a former Bruins athlete, had removed her name from the search.
Jarmond, 39, is viewed as one of the rising stars in the industry.
After spending eight years rising from associate AD for development to deputy AD at Ohio State, Jarmond became the youngest Power 5 AD in the industry when he arrived in Chestnut Hill in 2017.
Jarmond leaves months after firing Steve Addazio as the Eagles' head coach and replacing him with former Ohio State defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley.
He inherits a Bruins football program that is 7-17 in two seasons under Chip Kelly. While the football program is down at the moment, the UCLA brand is strong enough that the Bruins in 2016 signed a record $280 million apparel agreement with Under Armour in 2016.
