Florida State offensive coordinator Walt Bell will be the new head coach at UMass FootballScoop can confirm.

Bell’s contract is reportedly five years at $625,000. At Florida State Bell was earning $700,000 on a three year deal.

Bell spent this season as offensive coordinator at Florida State. Prior to that he spent two seasons as OC at Maryland and two in the same role at Arkansas State. Bell is a native of Tennessee and began his coaching career at Memphis before moving on to stints at Oklahoma State, Southern Miss and UNC before ascending to OC with Blake Anderson at A-State.
