According to reports this afternoon, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson is expected to remain on board to lead the team in 2021.
Pederson took over the team in 2016, going 7-9 that first year. In year two, they jumped to 13-3 and captured Super Bowl LII. That was followed by two straight 9-7 seasons before a drop off to 4-10 in 2020 that left many questioning if Pederson would return to lead the team.
Overall, he is 42-36 in five seasons leading the team.
Ian Rapoport shares that "the focus has been on how the current leadership can get things back on track for the 2021 season." He adds that significant staff changes are expected.
Earlier today, there was a report that defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz was contemplating retirement and would not be back with the team next season.
