Rip / Liz match and coverage variations from Indiana Wesleyan (NAIA) defensive coordinator JJ Clark

Rip / Liz match has been a concept widely attributed to Nick Saban and its popularity has grown exponentially over the years with the evolution of spread offense.

Today, Indiana Wesleyan (NAIA) defensive coordinator JJ Clark takes us through how they run their Rip / Liz match and some of the coverage variations they use off from it.

I really like the short phrase coaching points that Clark and his staff use to quickly drive a point home, and he shares where he picked that approach up from, and how his background as a tight end has helped him on the defensive side of the ball.
