Russell Wilson is, for now, the richest player in NFL history.
The Seattle Seahawks quarterback signed a 4-year contract worth a record $140 million. That deal includes a record $65 million signing bonus and a record $35 million annual average. On a per-game basis, Wilson will earn $2.1875 million each and every Sunday (or Thursday, or Monday) through the 2022 campaign.
No one earns $140 million on their own, especially not quarterbacks.
Wilson gifted each Seahawk offensive lineman $12,000 in Amazon stock, but equally valuable is the letter he accompanied with the gift, obtained by TMZ and posted here.
Okay, so the $12,000 in Amazon stock probably ranks above the letter, but it's a nice reminder for all quarterbacks who can't drop $150,000 on their linemen to show them they're no less appreciated -- in a way they can afford.
