Rutgers reportedly targeting fellow Big Ten offensive coordinator

After the 2019 season, Kirk Ciarrocca left Minnesota to become the offensive coordinator at fellow Big Ten school Penn State.

According to a report tonight, Ciarrocca is on the verge of doing the same, but this time to another Big Ten program.

Pete Thamel tweets that Rutgers is targeting Ciarrocca to become their new offensive coordinator.

The report adds that a deal between the two is not complete, but is expected to happen in the coming days, and the Scarlet Knights are "expected to make a substantial commitment" to bring him in.

Kirk and Penn State parted ways after one season that didn't live up to expectations, and he spent the 2021 season as an offensive analyst at West Virginia.

Before this past season, Ciarrocca returned to PJ Fleck's program as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

At Rutgers, he would replace Sean Gleeson, who was let go back in October following the sixth game of his third season.
