Sam Pittman and Arkansas have reportedly signed a former MLB player who is nearly a decade out of high school (Monte Harrison)

Coming out of Lee's Summit West high school in Missouri, Monte Harrison was a four-star receiver who gave a verbal commitment to Nebraska.

He also held offers from, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan State, Kansas, Missouri, Michigan, Wisconsin and Arkansas at the time.

I note "at the time" because Harrison has spent nearly the last decade playing professional baseball, last suiting up for the LA Angels in 2022 as an outfielder after being a second round pick of the Brewers - who paid him $1.8 million.

While he logged over 860 professional baseball games, about 50 of those were a part of the MLB ranks in three stints where he hit .176 with two home runs, 6 RBIs and 7 stolen bases where he didn't have the success most had hoped for.

He will turn 29 in August, last played football in 2014, and. is preparing a comeback to football.

According to multiple reports, Harrison just committed to play for Sam Pittman and the Razorbacks.

He seems to bring some bonafide speed to the receivers room, as he stole 210 stolen bases on 249 attempts in the minor leagues.

In his final year of high school he racked up over 1,200 yards and 25 touchdowns as one of the top prospects in The Show Me State.

Now he will try his hand at the rare feat of going from professional ranks back to college in another sport, something similar to former NBA star JR Smith recently did going from the hardwood to trying his hand at college golf.

His second-shot will not only be an interesting story to watch during camp into the early part of the season, but with NIL now a major factor it adds an interesting additional angle to already intriguing story.
