Sam Pittman will return to lead the Razorbacks (Arkansas)

After fielding questions from media the last two weeks about his job security, Sam Pittman got some much needed clarity last night.

Multiple outlets have shared that Arkansas athletic director Hunter Yurachek informed players last night that he's sticking with Pittman. Matt Zenitz first shared the news.

The news comes as Arkansas beat FIU last night to improve to 4-7 on the year. Following the game Pittman was asked about Rod Gilmore reporting that Pittman had told him he was safe to return for next season.

Pittman is in his fourth season leading the Razorbacks.

They went 3-7 during the COVID 2020 season before the new energy he and his staff brought to the program helped propel them to a 9-4 campaign in 2021. The finished that year with a win in the Outback Bowl and a top 25 ranking.

Last year they finished 7-6 with another bowl victory.

This offseason, the Razorbacks lost offensive coordinator Kendal Briles to TCU and Pittman opted to replace him with Dan Enos.

That partnership was not successful as hoped, as Enos was dismissed in late October following a 7-3 loss to a struggling Mississippi State squad that was part of a six-game losing streak.

With a game against a 9-2 Missouri squad the only game remaining on the schedule this season, Pittman is 22-24 overall during his time in Fayetteville.
