At Fordham (FCS - NY), walk-on wide receiver Joe Ferraro has worked his way into being a real player for the Rams, so when the time came to award him with a scholarship the staff wanted to do something special.
At the end of practice last night, as the team prepared for their game against Richmond Saturday, the first-team offense was instructed to run two full-speed scout reps against the first-team defense to wrap up practice.
The looked at the scout card, ran the play, and then came back to look at the second one when the staff used a scout card to reveal that Ferraro had earned a scholarship. It was a surprise to all the players, and things quickly went from a scout team mindset to one of genuine jubilation as they celebrate with Ferraro.
Take a look at how the entire thing played out in the video.
