What's the only thing better than being a walk-on who earns a scholarship?
How about getting the news of not having to pay for school anymore after nailing the game-winning kick in your in-state rivalry game as time expires?
That's how last night played out for Washington kicker Grady Gross, who kicked a 42-yard field goal with time running out to beat Washington State.
After the game, Gross went to the locker room as a walk-on hero who kept the Huskies College Football Playoff hopes and undefeated season alive, and left the locker room on full scholarship.
Washington cameras were in the locker room as Kalen DeBoer delivered the news to Gross in a really special moment.
The kick moved the sophomore kicker to 11-for-14 on field goals for the year, while he's a perfect 54-for-54 on PAT attempts.
