Seahawks filling their head coaching opening with Mike Macdonald (Pete Carroll)

In 2021, Mike Macdonald was helping Jim Harbaugh revitalize the Michigan program coming off a 2-4 season during COVID.

Heading into 2024, he's set to be an NFL head coach.

Macdonald spent just one season at Michigan, helping the Wolverines to their first of what would go on to be three Big Ten titles and three straight appearances in the College Football Playoff.

He left to join John Harbaugh's staff with the Ravens following the 2021 season, and has spent the past two seasons with them, helping them win 23 games during that span.

Seattle decided to take things in a new direction after 14 seasons under Pete Carroll, who is 72 years old.

In Macdonald, they're tabbing the NFL's youngest head coach, as he's just 36 years old.
