The Seattle Seahawks are your early 2015 NFL favorites
It's been more than two decades since an NFL team reached three straight Super Bowls, but that hasn't stopped oddsmakers from backing the Seahawks. The almost two-time defending champions were installed as an early favorite to win Super Bowl 50 by the Westgate Las Vegas Super Book with 5-1 odds.
The defending champion New England Patriots trailed at 6-1, followed by the Green Bay Packers (7-1) and Denver Broncos (8-1). For the record, New England faced 15-1 odds at this time last year.
Here's how the whole league shakes out:
1. Seahawks: 5-1
2. Patriots: 6-1
3. Packers: 7-1
4. Broncos: 8-1
5. Cowboys 12-1
6. Eagles: 16-1
Colts: 16-1
8. Lions: 25-1
Saints: 25-1
Rams: 25-1
49ers: 25-1
Cardinals: 25-1
Steelers: 25-1
Ravens: 25-1
Bengals: 25-1
16. Texans: 30-1
Chargers: 30-1
Chiefs: 30-1
Panthers: 30-1
Giants: 30-1
Falcons: 30-1
Dolphins: 30-1
23. Vikings: 50-1
Bears: 50-1
Bills: 50-1
Browns: 50-1
27. Redskins: 100-1
Jets: 10-1
29. Buccaneers: 200-1
30. Titans: 300-1
Jaguars: 300-1
Raiders: 300-1
With tough salary cap decisions ahead, plus the dubious history of recent Super Bowl losers plus the emotional baggage of losing that game in that way, the Seahawks face long odds to reach the Bay Area for a third consecutive Super Bowl a year from now, but those odds are not quite as long as the rest of the NFL.
