SEC cancels spring games, practices could still be on

The SEC on Tuesday canceled the remainder of its competitive schedule for the 2019-20 athletic calendar, a move that includes spring football games. All pro day events have been canceled as well.

"This is a difficult day for all of us, and I am especially disappointed for our student-athletes," said SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey. "The health and well-being of our entire conference community is an ongoing priority for the SEC as we continue to monitor developments and information about the COVID-19 virus."

However, "other athletic activities," which includes practices and in-person recruiting events, have not been canceled. Those remain suspended through April 15, though at this point it feels like they simply have not been canceled yet.

The SEC was the last of the Power 5 conferences yet to cancel the remainder of its competitive schedule.
