Sources tell FootballScoop that after six seasons leading his alma mater at Arkansas Tech, Kyle Shipp has decided to resign.
We're told he plans to pursue opportunities outside of football.
The decision comes on the heels of a 5-6 season.
This past fall was actually their third straight season of finishing 5-6, to go along with a 4-7 mark in 2021 (no football played in 2020) and 3-8 finish in his first season.
In five seasons, Shipp put together a record of 22-33 overall.
A former Wonder Boys assistant and player, Shipp returned to his alma mater as offensive coordinator back in January of 2019. A few months into his return, Bo Atterberry retired, citing health issues, and Shipp was elevated to the head coaching role.
Before returning home to lead Arkansas Tech, Shipp spent five seasons on staff at league foe Arkansas-Monticello where his offenses put up nearly 400 yards per game.
Earlier in his coaching career, the former Arkansas Tech receiver worked with the Wonder Boy wide receivers and spent a few season on staff at Arkansas State under Steve Roberts as a graduate assistant.
