Sources tell FootballScoop that after one season leading the offense, Bobby Acosta and Arkansas Pine Bluff (FCS) are parting ways as Acosta pursues an opportunity closer to family.
Acosta also mentored the team's quarterbacks.
The UAPB program finished 2-9 on the year, scoring 21 points or more on just three occasions.
Acosta joined the staff heading into the 2023 season after spending two seasons as the head coach at Del Valle HS (TX), located in the Austin area of the Lone Start state.
In his two seasons leading the Texas-based program he went 2-8 in back-to-back seasons.
Before leading the Del Valle program, Acosta led the football program at the prestigious, nationally ranked IMG Academy (FL) for one year, going 8-0 in his lone season with the program.
The college coaching veteran has called offenses at a variety of levels including Bucknell (FCS - PA), and St. Scholastica (D-III - MN) and also has a year as a head coach at the college level to his credit, leading the Widener (D-III - PA) program to a 6-4 record for a season.
He's also been an assistant at the major college level, spending two seasons mentoring the receivers at Syracuse.
