Source tell FootballScoop that going 0-8, Dean College (D-III - MA) has decided a new direction is needed.
Andrae Murphy, a former FCS assistant with stops at Columbia and Holy Cross, was hired back in 2022 and led the team to a 1-9 season.
Year two they seemed to take a small step forward, going 2-8 through the 2023 season, but that momentum did not carry into this fall where they were winless through eight games.
He leaves the school with a 3-25 record leading the Bulldogs.
Eric Desmond Lee, the school's Vice President of Athletics and Recreation, has appointed himself the interim head coach, source shares.
Lee, who arrived in his role back in July, is a former standout football player for the Dean program who later joined the staff as an assistant / recruiting coordinator. He would later going on to earn his juris doctor and become an assistant prosecutor in Essex County.
Before returning to lead athletics at his alma mater, Lee worked in civil litigation at a prestigious New Jersey law firm.
