Parker Henry has spent the past four seasons at some of the nation's top programs continuing to learn from USC defensive coordinator Alex Grinch.
Their relationship began back at Washington State, where Grinch served as the Coogs defensive coordinator and Henry was a player.
That led to opportunities for Parker to work for Grinch at Oklahoma as trusted defensive graduate assistant.
When Grinch left for USC with Lincoln Riley to get the Trojans program turned around, Henry went along with, earning a promotion to defensive quality control and analyst roles.
Now, sources tell FootballScoop that Henry is taking a coordinator opportunity at the FCS level.
Parker is expected to accept a position at Portland State (FCS - OR) as their new linebackers coach and special teams coordinator, sources have shared.
The Vikings finished 4-7 last season under Bruce Barnum, who will begin his ninth year at the helm of the program in 2023.
Parker will have a good young core of players to work with. According to 247Sports, PSUโs 2023 signing class was ranked best in the Big Sky Conference and among the top three of all FCS schools.
