After a 7-5 debut season at the helm of the Florida A&M program, James Colzie is moving toward bolstering his staff with the additions of two offensive coaches.
Sources tell FootballScoop that Colzie is set to add two coaches from North Carolina Central (FCS) to his Rattlers staff.
Sources share that North Carolina Central offensive line coach / run game coordinator Cedric Williams and recruiting coordinator / running backs coach Kevin Maurice are both heading to FAMU after a stellar 8-3 season with the Eagles.
Williams joined the North Carolina Central staff back in 2022, and has experience coaching the offensive lines at Georgia State, Newberry (D-II - SC), Mississippi Valley State, and Tennessee State over the last fifteen seasons.
A former offensive lineman at South Carolina, where he also started his coaching career as a graduate assistant, Williams has had multiple stints with the NFL's Bill Walsh Diversity Fellowship program serving stints with the Chargers, Eagles, Giants, Vikings, Steelers and Panthers.
Also set to join the staff from North Carolina Central is Kevin Maurice, who joined the program at about the same time as Williams. He spent the 2021 season at the FBS level as the tight ends coach at New Mexico State.
Maurice also has had brief stops at Nevada, Miami, and Cincinnati and was part of a record breaking offense as an a at Eastern Washington (FCS) as well.
