Source told FootballScoop Thursday Pete Lembo is a strong candidate for the head coaching position at Fordham (FCS - NY).

Fordham's process is expected to be completed today with an announcement expected no later than tomorrow.

Lembo, a Staten Island native, has served as Maryland's special teams coordinator the past two seasons.

Prior to joining DJ Durkin's staff at Maryland, Lembo served as head coach at Ball State five seasons, Elon five seasons and at Lehigh five seasons, setting school records at each university. Lembo was a four-year starter on the offensive line at Georgetown back in his playing days. He went on to earn his masters from Albany.

Fordham won 32 games during the 2013, '14 & '15 seasons; but after Joe Moorhead left for Penn State, the Rams won 8 in 2016 and only 4 this season.
