Source: Pitt State set to add new coordinator from FCS program (Pitt State)

Pitt State is set to land their new offensive coordinator from the FCS level.

Sources tell FootballScoop that Pitt State is hiring Stephen F. Austin (FCS - TX) outside receivers coach Kevin Bleil as their new offensive coordinator.

Bleil spent the past five seasons with the Lumberjacks, and previously coached at the Division II level with stops at Nebraska Kearney and Texas A&M Commerce.

At UNK, Kevin held the co-offensive coordinator / pass game coordinator title and worked with the quarterbacks and receivers.

He also spent time at the major college level where he was a graduate assistant at Iowa State and was a student assistant at Akron early on in his coaching career.

With the Gorillas, he will join his veteran college coach father, Bill, who joined the program as offensive line coach at the end of December. Bill's major college stops include Northern Illinois, Akron, and Iowa State over an impressive coaching career that spans four decades.

The two previously coached with each other on the Stephen F. Austin staff, where Bill worked with the Lumberjacks offensive line.

The two hires help set a new direction for the program under new head coach Tom Anthony, who was a former Gorillas defensive coordinator. He takes the reigns after Brian Wright left for the Northern Arizona (FCS) job after compiling a 33-8 record over the last four seasons.
