In a coaching career spanning parts of five decades, Dave Huxtable has done just about everything.
He's coordinated high-level defenses at a quartet of Atlantic Coast Conference programs -- Georgia Tech, North Carolina, N.C. State and Pittsburgh -- among myriad other stops.
The venerable Huxtable spent the past two years as a senior defensive analyst with Saban in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Now Huxtable is headed to the NFL. He's joining the Atlanta Falcons as a senior defensive assistant coach on the staff of Falcons leader Arthur Smith.
It's the first foray into the NFL for Huxtable, who has coached at eight different Power 5 programs -- Texas, Wisconsin and Oklahoma State included --as well as logged time at the junior college level plus Western Kentucky and UCF.
Huxtable's longest run was seven years coordinating the defenses of the N.C. State Wolfpack last decade.
The Falcons are coming off an 7-10 2022 campaign and own the No. 8 overall pick in the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft.
