Seth Hestness has been hired as Army's new tight ends coach, sources confirmed to FootballScoop on Monday. The news was first reported by Black Knight Nation.
Army will formally announce the hiring on Monday afternoon.
Hestness comes to West Point from Drake, where he joined the program as tight ends coach earlier this year after spending the 2024 season coaching tight ends and fullbacks for Tennessee State. In his one season with the Tigers, Hestness helped Eddie George's club go 9-4 and reach the FCS playoffs.
A 2017 Wartburg College graduate, Hestness spent the 2017 campaign coaching tight ends for his alma mater before taking GA stints at Liberty and Minnesota. He was a quality control coach at North Dakota State from 2022-23.
Cheston Blackshear spent 2024 as Army's tight ends coach, but he was moved to assistant offensive line coach after Matt Drinkall became the head coach at Central Michigan.
