Sources: Baylor to hire former coordinator from Big 12 bunk mate (Mark Scott Coach)

Former Houston special teams coordinator Mark Scott is expected to join the Baylor staff as a special teams analyst, sources told FootballScoop on Tuesday.

Scott spent the past four seasons in that role at Houston, but was not retained as part of the change from Dana Holgorsen to Willie Fritz.

Scott was a special teams analyst for the Cougars in 2019, and spent the previous eight seasons working for Holgo at WVU, rising from a graduate assistant to special teams coordinator and linebackers coach. He spent the first five years of his career at the Division II level -- starting as linebackers coach at Hillsdale College, his alma mater, before stops at the University of Indianapolis and Trine University.

Dave Aranda has managed special teams from an off-the-field position. Tyler Hancock was the Bears' coordinator in all but name in 2023, but took an on-field role on Pete Lembo's new Buffalo staff last month
