Sources: Campbell adding an accomplished small college coordinator to staff

Mike Ridings has been a part of undefeated seasons, #1 national rankings, and playoff runs as an assistant coach, won the two prestigious AFCA awards, and coordinated one of the top small college defenses in the country.

Now, sources tell FootballScoop he's readying for a new challenge.

Ridings, the defensive coordinator at Wabash (D-III - IN) and former AFCA 30 Under 30 selection, is preparing for a jump to the FCS level as he's set to become the new safeties coach at Campbell.

He spent the past two seasons at Wabash calling the defense.

Prior to that, made the jump as an assistant at one NAIA's top programs in Marian (NAIA - IN) for his first defensive coordinator opportunity at Keiser (NAIA - FL).

There, he helped develop a defense that ranked among the top 15 in scoring, allowing just 18 points per game, and were one of the top teams in sacks during their run to the NAIA quarterfinals in 2021.

He had been an instrumental part of teams that put together back-to-back 7-3 campaigns at Wabash.

At Campbell, he joins new head coach Braxton Harris, who left Houston Christian (FCS - TX) this off season to return to Campbell as the new head coach.\
